Coffee in the quarry

Sitting a little closer to the fire this morning. -2°C, let the shift begin.

This little friend has been the first to arrive, every morning for the past couple of weeks. His is cold little feet on my hand... he looks me in the eye as if to say hello my friend. He is different from all the others so easy to know who it is. He stays close as I sit, never going too far away. My heart swells with joy knowing we have this bond...connected...human and more than human. I feel such gratitude.
