12/8/2021 0 Comments Coffee in the QuarryCrunchy ground this morning... Long one...writing this today because I care. Compassion This word is coming up for me everywhere these days so I've been reflecting on it and my heart is nudging me to write about it today because sadly I feel like it is deteriorating within us...we can't let this happen. We are polarized, we are disconnected, we have lost the ability to have discussion with opposing views and opinions... But, you know what? If we recognize this is happening we can change it...when we're aware we can do better...we can practice building it again. I ask you to pause before you respond, react or attack and ask yourself...am I doing so with compassion, empathy and love? I love how Thich Nhat Hanh describes compassion in this quote. “Compassion is a verb” "It can be difficult to feel compassion towards those who have wronged us or people with opposing views and beliefs. But therein lies the issue – we believe compassion is a feeling, something we either possess or don’t. But we should not be waiting for or trying to feel compassion. Compassion is something we should be doing. It takes effort to find it and practice to cultivate it. We must stop waiting for it to arrive and instead build both compassion and empathy within ourselves." ~Thich Nhat Hanh Have a good day everyone. Like I shared in my Monday Metta this week...May you lead with a compassionate heart. I know I'm going to try my very best. Much love #selfcare #TheQuarry #sitspot #compassion #thichnhathanh #thichnhathanhquotes
